We are Boston Strong

Monday 15th was the annual Boston Marathon, within four hours and nine minutes of the marathon beginning, a bomb was ignited on the Boylston Street. More than a hundred-seventy people were severely injured and three were killed. The killed victims were, Krystle Campbell 29, a female restaurant manager, Lu Lingzi a 23 year old Boston University graduate student, and Martin Richard an eight year old boy who was reportedly killed by the second bomb, also a MIT officer named Sean A. Collier, age 27 . There were two bombs that was controlled by the Tsarnaev brothers, Tamerlan being the eldest at the age of twenty-six and  nineteen year old Dzhokhar. The two were walking the marathon path, though together they had kept a small distance between each other, hidden in backpacks were the bombs and were set off thirteen second apart.

When I heard the news it was heartbreaking, not only had many been injured but there were three very young people that was killed and now including a police officer. On April 15th was my grandmothers birthday, when we had been celebrating we recived a call from my aunt in Tenneessee asking if we were ok. I had asked what she was worried about, and it happened to be the Boston marathon bombing. That day turned to be bittersweet, because though it was my grandmothers birthday we were concerned for those directly involved with the bombing.

My only thought was 'I hope that these guys can be caught soon', what they had done had negatively in packed Massachusetts . Though because of this tragic event had occurred, it had proved  how "strong" Boston really is. All those who had been injured and brought to hospital for rehabilitation had recovered successfully and justice was brought to those who had suffered. Boston had come together once again when Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had been arrested on April 22, the streets filled and cheeres when the news of the terrorist's arrest had spread. Truly it was a reliefe knowing that the people in the Boston streets had felt safe again, knowing that the terroist was in custody of the police.
